On Wednesday 16th of October, NOVAS launched its flagship Christmas Sleep-Out event at its Head Office in Limerick City. Surrounded by a host of businesses, supporters and friends from the region, NOVAS encouraged participation in this vital fundraising event.

This year, the NOVAS Christmas Sleep-Out will take place on Saturday 7th of December in Limerick City from 7pm until 7am.

Jackie Leonard, Head of Fundraising with the organisation described the sleep-out as ‘NOVAS largest fundraising event of the year, with all monies raised going towards our frontline services in the region and that in order to make this our most successful event ever and to enable us to respond to the growing demand, we need as many people as possible to get involved; sleep-out on the night, include your colleagues, family and friends or make a donation.’

NOVAS CEO, Una Deasy described how the monies raised will ‘allow us to innovative and develop new, much-needed initiatives in the region. It will also enable us to provide an urgent humanitarian response to those who need it the most, through unfunded services such as our Street Outreach and through purchasing essential items for our family service in the city, such as nappies, Christmas gifts and food vouchers.’ She explained that the ‘more money we raise, the more people we can reach during this housing and homeless crisis.’

If you would like to participate in the event or have any questions on how to get involved, you can email [email protected] for further information.
