Limerick musicians take home award from Community Games All-Ireland

The talented musicians representing Regional Limerick took home an award.

A TROUPE of talented young musicians played all the right notes last month when they took home a winning medal from the recent Community Games All-Ireland in Carlow.

A bronze medal went to traditional musicians Tomek Berney, Nessa Breathnach, Lydia Culloty, Cathal Ryan, Rebecca Horan, and Saoirse Patterson who represented Regional Limerick at the games in Carlow on September 8.

The plucky group, all aged 12 to 13 and from the Raheen area, won in the U16 category after competing from bands from across 14 other counties.

This was a sustained success for some members of the group, who previously won gold county medals in the primary schools Scór na bPáistí group music competition.
