Construction started on over 900 Limerick homes in first seven months of 2024

CONSTRUCTION on 965 new homes got underway across the city and county of Limerick in the first seven months of this year, according to a new report published by the Department of Housing.

The figures from January to July this year already stand over the 795 homes commenced in Limerick in all of 2023.

The month of April showed the highest number of homes being commenced so far this year with 471, almost 10 times more than the number gotten underway in 2014 (51).

35,358 homes commenced nationally in the first seven months of 2024, nearly double the 18,546 figures from the same period in 2023.

Similar increases were noted County Clare, with 576 commencements from January to July already way ahead of the 384 in the same seven-month period in 2023.
