ACTION will commence over the coming weeks in the Pinergy Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup.

For over 110 years, the Cup has been a pillar of Munsterโ€™s rugby traditions, with the prestigious tournament showcasing exceptional talent and electric rivalries each season.

Infused with history, the cup competition has been the first introduction to elite rugby for many, including Munster greats; Ronan Oโ€™Gara who represented Presentation Brothers College, Cork and Keith Earls for St. Munchinโ€™s College.

The Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup season now commences with the echoes of Presentation Brothers Collegeโ€™s triumph to claim the Garett Fitzgerald Cup last season still resonating.

The stage is set for a thrilling showdown this season, as teams vie to etch their names in history as the new champions.

Last yearโ€™s win over Christian Brothers College Cork means PBC are now level with CBC in overall Senior Cup titles with 31.

This year, as schools across the province prepare to take to the field once more, last yearโ€™s semi-finalists Crescent College Comprehensive and St. Munchinโ€™s College will be digging deep to go one step further.

Colm McMahon, Head of Rugby Development at Munster Rugby commented: โ€œWith the continued support of Pinergy, our next generation of rugby players within the schoolsโ€™ competition are given the platform to shine on the field.”

“The Pinergy Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup competition is steeped in history and provides players with a great opportunity to develop and create memories throughout their academic years,” he concluded.
