Rising folk-rock artist Tadhg Williams is set to play his first-ever headline show in Limerick at Record Room on Friday June 6, as part of his nationwide โ€˜This Tour is a Nixerโ€™ series.

โ€œI last played Limerick supporting Kingfishrโ€™s first headline gig,โ€ Williams recalls.

โ€œIt was absolutely mental-Magoo crowd-surfed at one point! It feels like one of those nights thatโ€™s gone down in local music folklore. It was a real privilege to be part of it.โ€

The Limerick date comes amid a whirlwind year for the Waterford native. Following the release of his acclaimed debut EP This Record is a Nixer in late 2024, Williams sold out headline shows in Dublin and Waterford and went on to support major acts including Hermitage Green, The Coronas, and Toucan. With an eight-date Irish tour currently underway, the Limerick performance marks another milestone for an artist increasingly tipped as a leading voice in contemporary folk.

Tadhgโ€™s EP received widespread praise for its candid lyricism and evocative storytelling.

The title track Nixer was described by Pure M Magazine as the work of โ€œa luminary in the contemporary folk music landscapeโ€, while Hot Press named his historical ballad Frank Edwards one of their Songs of the Year. The EP also secured strong radio play across Ireland and the UK, with features on RTร‰, Today FM, Radio Nova, the BBC and more.

Reflecting on his growing career, Tadhg notes the grassroots spirit behind the tour: โ€œIโ€™ve put this whole run together myself, with the help of friends and artists I love and admire. Iโ€™m especially grateful for the support from Trad Folkinโ€™ Rocks for this Limerick show. Having conversations with audiences about the stories I tell-those moments of real connection feels like a true privilege.โ€
