EU Commission President invited to Limerick

-

WITH 2,600 people employed in the pharmaceutical and medical technology sector in Limerick, Cynthia Ní Mhurchú, MEP for Ireland South, has written to EU Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen inviting her to see it for herself.

Vital jobs have been created by companies like Regeneron, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Cook Medical, and Stryker R&D.

According to Ní Mhurchú “is important that President Von Der Leyen see for herself that we are not talking about isolated factories, but rather operations that are deeply integrated into our local communities, with partnerships in schools, universities, regional authorities, and training centres”.

The MEP pointed out that “some of the world’s most advanced medicines and life-saving medical devices are being made in counties like Limerick”.
