TOY swaps, interactive workshops, creative performances and practical demonstrations will all form part of Climate Action Week Limerick 2025.
Limerick City and County Council kicked off the week of activities this Monday (April 28), under the theme of #GreenforLimerick.
Discussions about climate change within the Irish education sector, a pop-up gallery of young artists speaking out on climate change, information sessions, batch cooking healthy food on a budget, and a gardening workshop are just some of the events on the agenda across this week.
Dr Darren Barry, community climate action officer at Limerick City and County Council said that “Climate Action Week Limerick reminds us that real change isn’t just possible, it’s already happening throughout Limerick City and County, and we are all part of it continuing”.
“Whether you are a seasoned eco-activist or just beginning your journey, this is your chance to be part of a local movement for a greener, fairer future.”
There will also be a chance to learn about a food waste initiative as part of the Climate Action Project Network at the Learning Hub in Limerick, as well as tips on how to reduce energy bills with community energy coaches at the UL City campus on Sarsfield Street.
To finish off the week of celebrations, an instant dissidence dance performance will take place on Sunday (May 4) at Shannon House on Main Street in Castleconnell.
All events are free and open to the public, and a full schedule of the week’s activities are available on limerick.ie.
