A LIMERICK man has put his name forward for the upcoming presidential election.
Donncha MacGabhann, from Knockainey in County Limerick, launched his presidential campaign this week.
The Limerick man wants to put “greater emphasis on the president’s role as a guardian of the Constitution”.
The campaign was launched at the Fir Grove Hotel in Mitchelstown, County Cork.
As part of his campaign, Mr MacGabhann is setting out on a six-month tour across Ireland, which he says will “provide abundant opportunities for listening to and engaging with groups and individuals of all ages and from all walks of life”.
Running as an independent candidate, he will also be seeking the support of four local authorities to endorse his candidacy later this year.
