LIMERICK Zine Fest kicks off on 30 April, celebrating all things DIY with a packed programme of free events across the city.
Founded by Caoilfhinn Geary, Tiffany Glenn, and Daithí Mac Cruitín, the festival champions zine culture, small presses, and the ever-expanding world of independent publishing. Over five days, artists, writers, and curious newcomers will have the chance to connect, create, and celebrate independent voices in a welcoming and dynamic atmosphere.
“This festival is all about community,” says co-founder Tiffany Glenn. “It’s a space where people can share ideas, learn from one another, and feel empowered to tell their own stories — all without gatekeepers.”
This year’s line-up includes hands-on workshops, a two-day Zine Makers Market, a panel discussion with featured artists, and an open makers session. Events will be hosted in some of Limerick’s most vibrant creative spaces, including Crew Brewing Co., Starling, St. John’s Pavilion, and Spacecraft Studios.
Wednesday 30
Drink & Draw Zine Workshop | 8pm – 10pm | Crew Brewing Co., 35 Thomas St.
Kick things off with a relaxed evening of sketching and sipping, where anyone can contribute to a collaborative zine.
Thursday 1
Open Mic Night w/ LSAD Poetry Society | 7pm – 9pm | Starling, 31 Nicholas St.
Expect poetry, spoken word, and a bit of spontaneity from local voices and visiting guests.
Friday 2
Zine Makers Market | 5pm – 10pm | St. John’s Pavilion, Mulgrave St.
Letterpress & Screenprint Workshop w/ Limerick Printmakers | 6pm – 9pm
Zine Making Workshop w/ Anna O’Leary | 6pm – 8pm
A full evening of printmaking, browsing, and hands-on creativity at the Pavilion.
