GARDAÍ in Limerick arrested a man in the city centre following a foot chase.
Gardaí attached to Operation Croí – targeting anti-social behaviour, theft, public order offences, and drug dealing – encountered a man “acting suspiciously” in the city centre while walking the beat.
Following a foot chase, Gardaí, with the help of members of the Community Policing Unit at Henry Street Garda Station, apprehended the man and searched him, finding 42 wraps of suspected crack cocaine and heroin.
According to the An Garda Síochána Limerick Facebook page, the man was arrested and charged following the chase through the city to appear before a sitting of Limerick District Court.
Gardaí said that the drugs were sent for further analysis.
