LIMERICK City and County Council have been called upon to carry out works at the bridge/stream at the old post office at Ballaugh, Abbeyfeale, to prevent flooding and damage to the public road and other property.

In response to Fine Gael councillor Liam Galvin at this month’s Newcastle West Municipal District meeting, the local authority committed to undertaking an inspection of this structure and determine what works if any are required.

“Any works to be carried out will be dependent on funding and approvals from the department and the relevant statutory bodies,” the Council explained.
