SINN Féin TD Maurice Quinlivan believes that the government cannot be trusted on the issue of water charges.
The Limerick politician made the comments during the discussion of a Sinn Féín tabled bill that seeks to remove the possibility of the introduction of water charges.
“The aim of this bill is to remove Part 2 of the Water Services Act of 2017. It is necessary because, when it comes to the issue of water charges, the two parties in government cannot be trusted,’ Deputy Quinlivan commented.
“We have a problem with our water infrastructure, and it is not a problem that will be addressed by customer charges but rather it will be addressed the repair and upgrading of our water supply system.”
