A RECORD-BREAKING 23,500 volunteers took to the streets of Limerick city and county on Good Friday (April 18) for the 10th edition of Team Limerick Clean-Up – Europe’s largest one-day tidy-up.
Thousands of participants from every town and village in Limerick formed part of the tidy army of businesses, schools, neighbourhood groups, Tidy Towns committees, and sports clubs banding together in the spirit of community for the annual day-long community clean-up.
Sponsored by the JP McManus Benevolent Fund and supported by Limerick City and County Council, TLC last year saw 57 tonnes of litter collected, the equivalent of 2,300 household wheelie bins full of rubbish.
