LIMERICK is one of the loudest cities in Ireland. That’s according to new research commissioned by Specsavers, which revealed the Treaty City as the fifth loudest in the country, behind only Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Kilkenny.
The research showed that 36 per cent of people in Limerick believe their hearing to be worsening due to noise in the city, with 34 per cent saying they struggle to have a conversation over city din.
The study also found that 60 per cent of people living in Limerick City believe their environment has become louder in the past five years.
The research was carried out as part of Specsavers’ push to encourage more people to have their hearing checked.
