Gardaí searching riverbank and wetlands in Limerick City as part of missing persons investigation

GARDAÍ are conducting searches in Limerick City as part of a missing persons investigation.

The searches began yesterday (Wednesday) along a stretch of riverbank and wetlands off the Condell Road.

Search and rescue units and other local emergency service personnel are assisting Gardaí in their search.

Gardaí remained tight lipped about the nature and circumstances of the search operation.

It’s understood Gardaí remained at the scene of a search area overnight and resumed searching this morning.

A Garda spokeswoman confirmed: “Gardaí carrying out searches in Limerick City as part of an ongoing missing persons investigation.”

The spokeswoman added that there was “no further information” to add at this time.
