€51,305 in grant funding has been awarded to two community groups on Shannonside to get involved in water quality management.
The funding was awarded by the Local Authority Waters Programme (LAWPRO) to Castleconnell River Association, who are to benefit from €44,355, with €6,950 going to the Maigue Rivers Trust.
LAWPRO, working on behalf of local authorities across Ireland, awarded the funding to help “protect and restore good water quality in our river catchments”. Community groups from 19 counties across Ireland are to benefit from a total of €856,260 in grand funding.
