
NATIONWIDE insurance broker Arachas has announced the opening of its new office in Limerick as it continues to expand its business in the city and surrounding areas.
The new office in Castletroy was the former premises of Gerry O’Mahony Insurances, acquired by Arachas in September of last year.
In 2021, Arachas acquired the Hooper Dolan business in Limerick and strengthened its presence in the Treaty City with the acquisition of O’Malley Griffin in 2023 and Gerry O’Mahony Insurances in September 2024.
In addition to the Limerick office, Arachas has also announced new offices in Tipperary town.
Arachas has grown steadily in Limerick as it continues to source insurance products for a variety of sectors including the multinational sector, indigenous businesses both large and small, the farming sector, along with consumers household and motor insurance products.
Employment numbers in Limerick have significantly grown over the past three years also, “reflecting the growth and the local and national expertise of Arachas”.
The official opening was performed by Limerick’s own Sarah Lavin and Arachas’ brand ambassador and hurling legend – Seán Óg Ó hAilpín.
Commenting on the opening, Daniel Hennessy, Mid West regional director for Arachas and current Limerick Insurance Institute president, said: “This is a landmark day for Arachas and our expanding Limerick operations with the opening of our new larger office, as we continue to grow our presence in the area responding to the needs of the city that is due to increase its population by 50,000 over the coming years.”
