UISCE Éireann crews have begun work to improve the water supply in Limerick City by replacing over 1km of old and damaged watermains.

The watermains, which are prone to frequent bursts and leakage, will be replaced and upgraded with new modern pipes.

Once completed, customers in this area will enjoy a more secure and reliable water supply for generations to come, a statement from Uisce Éireann said.

The section of works will take place along Brookville Avenue, from the crossroads with Clonmacken Road and end at the roundabout onto Cratloe Road.
