TWO Limerick schools were awarded for their work in fostering LGBTQ+ wellbeing and inclusion.
Crescent College Comprehensive and Educate Together Secondary School were given the Belong To LGBTQ+ Quality Mark alongside 44 schools and education centres nationwide.
The award was established following findings that LGBTQ+ pupils in schools did not feel safe in the post-primary environment.
“The initiative draws on national and international best practice to create an environment where students feel safe and welcome regardless of who they are,” a Belong To representative explained.
More information on the initiative and how to take part can be found on belongto.org.
