CAN Limerick City and County Council return to lighting up King John’s Castle?
This was the ask from Independent councillor Ursula Gavan at City Hall at the March Metropolitan District meeting.
Cllr Gavan said the lighting of the castle is well received and greatly enhances the area from a tourist point of view.
She was informed that the lighting of the Medieval attraction is currently set up and allowed for on the Castle Street side of the castle.
“Further plans to light up the castle are subject to detailed design and environmental sensitivity analysis and this is being considered by Discover Limerick DAC, as part of wider plans for the castle,” the meeting heard.
