14 arrests in Garda Day of Action in Limerick City

GARDAÍ in Limerick City made a sweep of arrests on Wednesday (March 26) under a Warrant Day of Action.

The day of action saw a targeted operation move on people with outstanding bench warrants and saw 14 arrests made with 22 bench warrants executed.

A Garda spokesperson said that “all persons arrested were brought before a sitting of Limerick District Court at the Courts Complex on Mulgrave Street”.

The spokesperson added that “investigations are ongoing” in respect of the warrants and arrests.

The sweep was carried out by Gardaí from Roxboro Road Station, along with members from the Limerick City South Community Engagement Area, Warrants Unit, and Community Policing Unit.

It is expected that further arrests will be made in connection with the warrants.

Speaking after the day of action, Superintendent Oliver Kennedy said: “I wish to compliment Garda members on a successful Day of Action, which took place on Wednesday the 26th of March, 2025, in the Limerick City South Community Engagement Area”.

“Garda members attached to the Core Unit, Warrants Unit, and Community Policing Unit conducted this successful operation which resulted in 14 arrests and 22 bench warrants executed.”

Superintendent Kennedy added that “a number of offenders have now been dealt after being brought before Limerick District Court and follow up arrests will be made by Garda members attached to the Limerick City South Community Engagement Area”.

“An Garda Síochána are committed to proactively taking action to improve the quality of life of those living within the community.”
