LIMERICK registered a massive victory in the Munster Under-20 Hurling Championship mid-week with a 2-13 to 0-17 defeat of favourites Tipperary at Semple Stadium, Thurles.
Last season, Limerick only registered one win across the campaign but now are off the starting blocks in the best possible fashion.
Limerick, who were in arrears entering the final stretch, stormed to the finish, with a late goal from substitute Mark O’Brien (Mungret St Paul’s) ultra-crucial to the outcome.
The sides turned around eight points apiece.
Limerick’s other goal, shortly after the restart, came from Matthew Fitzgerald (Monaleen).
Hugh Flanagan of Garrsypillane top-scored for the visitors with six smashing points.
