KIRKLAND, the owners of the Horizon Mall, are engaging with the local authority in relation to progressing their new masterplan for the development of the site, Council members have been informed.
In response to a question from Cllr Catherine Slattery (FF) at this month’s Metropolitan District meeting, councillors were told that the developer — “it is hoped” — will complete this work and move on to preparing a planning application.
Three years ago, An Bord Pleanála overturned planning permission granted by Limerick City and County Council.
The €90million development, comprising a 14-storey build-to-rent tower block at the top of Groody Hill, was set to include a 300-bedroom hotel, apartments housing 190 residents, offices, and a filling station, will not go ahead.
