GARDAÍ in Limerick City searched and arrested a man found to be in possession of a “considerable quantity” of crack cocaine on Wednesday of last week (March 19).
The stop and search was carried out as part of “investigations into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Limerick”, Gardaí said, in connection with Operation Croí – targeting anti-social behaviour, public order offences, shop theft, and the sale and supply of controlled drugs.
The man was stopped and searched in the city centre and “a considerable quantity of individually wrapped deals of suspected crack cocaine was seized”.
The man was arrested and subsequently released without charge “pending analysis of the suspected drugs and preparation of a file to the DPP for direction”.
