JENNY Räisänen is a Finnish singer-songwriter-producer based in Limerick. Jenny has just released her second indie pop album ‘The Sun Between The Shadows’.
The new record is a cinematic fusion of indie pop, blending organic and electronic elements. While her debut leaned towards folk-pop, this second solo effort sees her embracing darker, melancholic tones alongside themes of hope and empowerment. Jenny delivers all vocal parts and plays keyboards and electronic soundscapes, with Juhani Konttinen on guitars and Eilidh Pope adding violin on two tracks. Lyrically, the album explores deep emotions and social issues, tackling themes such as environmental destruction (Underneath), regret (What I’ve Done), and domestic violence (Sorry). Yet, amid the shadows, there’s light—The Spark celebrates friendship, and The Past Don’t Exist Anymore champions women’s empowerment.
Jenny says, “I want to stand up for the weaker and fight against injustice in the world. This statement is the driving force to search for the sun between the shadows and it defines the musical expression of the album.”
