THE Irish Chamber Orchestra (ICO) welcomes back the renowned Norwegian violinist Henning Kraggerud for his third collaboration with the ensemble. As part of a captivating series of concerts, Kraggerud will perform in Limerick, Dublin, and Newport-Mayo from April 10–12, offering audiences a fascinating interpretation of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
Few musicians command the stage quite like Henning Kraggerud. ICO has previously revelled in his extraordinary performances of Norwegian compositions and Bach’s Goldberg Variations. His magnetic presence and passionate approach to music-making have captivated audiences, bringing a fresh vitality to each performance.
Kraggerud and ICO embark on an exciting journey through Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, bringing each movement to life in thrilling detail. From the joyous birdsong of spring to the ferocious storms of summer, the fleeting foxes of autumn, and the biting chill of winter, this will be no ordinary rendition. Kraggerud’s deep connection to Vivaldi’s work ensures an immersive and electrifying experience for all.
Adding to the magic of the evening, Kraggerud will also present three of his own compositions, weaving them seamlessly between Vivaldi’s movements. These pieces introduce a contemporary perspective while complementing the timeless beauty of The Four Seasons.
