Successful Club Limerick GAA fundraiser in London

John Kiely responds to a question from TJ Ryan, watched-on by Richie McCarthy.

CLUB Limerick GAA London staged its inaugural fundraiser – Munster Hurling Championship Preview 2025 – at One Hundred Shoreditch (with its outstanding views of the city’s skyline) on High Street.

It came ahead of the team announcement – one which features the return of both Declan Hannon and Darragh O’Donovan – for Saturday night’s League outing with Wexford at the Gaelic Grounds.

The event in London was professionally hosted by Limerick legend TJ Ryan and the special guests were County Senior Manager John Kiely and recently retired five-time All-Ireland medal winner Graeme Mulcahy, along with former All-Star Richie McCarthy.

“It was an unforgettable occasion. This was an appetiser for what the Limerick Community in London are about in terms of future supporting the county,” said Evan O’Donoghue, Kilcornan, a member of the organising committee.

“It was a most enjoyable gathering of Limerick people, both based in London and many who travelled over from home to be with us for the night.”

Kiely was wholesome in his praise for the global presence of Limerick persons “and the always heartfelt energy of their encouragement.”

Limerick GAA has many plans for the years ahead, including the creation of a €20million Centre of Excellence facility in Crecora.

This will be supported in part by Club Limerick London, Club Limerick New York, Club Limerick Dublin, and Club Limerick itself.

“The need to grow our games, continuously innovate, and optimise processes is at the core of Limerick GAA’s strategic plan,” commented Seán Scanlon, chairperson of Club Limerick.
