LIMERICK TD and Minister for State Niall Collins has welcomed the announcement of a new CAMHS eating disorder team for HSE Mid West, which will cover Limerick city and county as well as Clare.
The team was announced by Mental Health Minister Mary Butler, who confirmed the locations for new eating disorder teams, funded under Budget 2025. 14 of the 16 teams are now established.
Minister Collins said: “This announcement under the nationwide rollout of the HSE’s National Clinical Programme on Eating Disorders is hugely welcome news for Limerick. The new eating disorder team for HSE Mid West will provide extremely important support for people in our communities with eating disorders”.
The service will assess people’s needs, diagnosing eating disorders, and provide person-centred treatment.
