
THE spirit of St Patrick will be alive this Sunday (March 16) in Newcastle West, as the town celebrate’s Ireland’s national day.
The Square will see a host of market stalls and live music from 1pm, before the big event – the Newcastle West St Patrick’s Day parade – kicks off at 3pm.
The parade will wind through The Square, along Maiden Street, before rounding into North Quay and returning to The Square through Bridge Street.
The brand new fire truck will kick off proceedings with all bells and whistles, as the parade gets underway with the town’s sports clubs, The Pike Men, Vikings from the Ardagh Heritage Society, The Goats’ Street Goats, and more.
