‘A Night on The Town’ celebrates Limerick, friendships and dedication

The Creative Show cast in rehearsal with writer and director Myles Breen.

This year’s Creative Show presents A Night on the Town on Wednesday 19 and Thursday 20 March 2025 at Lime Tree Theatre from 7.30pm. Now in its thirteenth year, we are thrilled to return to Lime Tree Theatre after previous sell-out shows at Belltable. Limerick Youth Theatre and AVISTA have worked tirelessly to create this spectacular production, writing a brand-new script, collaborating with hundreds of singers, dancers, musicians, and actors, and bringing together school choirs, arts organisations, and independent practitioners.

A true labour of love, it takes three months of laughter, hard work, and dedication to bring The Creative Show to life, showcasing the very best of its talented participants.

It’s Saturday night in Limerick City, and the town is alive with excitement.

Join the people of Limerick as they embark on a night out. From stag and hen parties to hopeful grannies at the bingo, from students in Christmas jumpers to an unpredictable blind date – the evening is filled with drama, laughter, and celebration.

A couple marking their anniversary anxiously await news from the babysitter, while revellers wonder if it will be Murder on the Dance Floor or a party that lasts All Night Long. The only worry? The taxi queue at the end!

Angie Smalis, Artistic Director of LYT, says: ‘The Creative Show is the highlight of LYT’s calendar. It is an honour to co-produce this inclusive project, choreograph its dance elements, and witness the friendships and personal growth it nurtures.’

Michael Hunt, TEES Day Services Manager at AVISTA, adds: ‘This show is a highlight for those we support. It fosters creativity, confidence, and community, with every participant flourishing in this extraordinary production.’
