LESS cash in the economy is what Gardaรญ in Limerick believe is behind an upsurge in break-ins to business premises in recent weeks.
Gardaรญ at Henry Street Garda Station are investigating a number of break-ins to businesses around the city over the last number of days and all for the cash float.
Gardaรญ say that because there is less cash circulating, criminals will go where they know they will find it and cash floats in tills are the current target.
The advice is, keep cash floats in a safe or off the premises, leaving the tills open and empty at night.
Purchase a cash safe of good quality and bolt it to a solid wall or floor, local Gardaรญ said.
