A TOP young farming student from Limerick has been awarded the John Feely Foundation Scholarship.
The accolade was presented to Tommy Ryan, who was accompanied by his brother Michael, along with a cheque for €1,500, by ICMSA president Denis Drennan.
The young Doon scholar was one of four recipients of this year’s award, in which Mr Drennan said had been a stiff competition with outstanding applicants.
“The standard we’re seeing in the young people coming through bodes well for the sector: they’re technically very strong and environmentally aware, they’re also committed to building on the standards already achieved,” Mr Drennan said.
