
GARDAÍ in Limerick are investigating after an arson attack on the outskirts of Limerick City in the early hours of this Monday morning (March 10).
The shocking attack saw what Gardaí described as an “improvised device containing an accelerant” thrown at a car and a home in the Corbally area.
Following the attack, Gardaí have put a call out to the public for anyone who may have any information which may help the investigation, with a particular interest in a “black SUV” which was seen in the Corbally area between 2.30am and 3.30am.
The attack is understood to have taken place at The Meadows, Lower Park, in Corbally.
A spokesperson for an Garda Síochána said that the arson attack took place at around 3am this Monday morning when “an improvised device containing an accelerant was thrown at a car and a domestic residence”.
The spokesperson added that no injuries have been reported at this time resulting from the attack.
“A technical examination of the scene has been carried out by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit,” the Garda spokesperson explained.
Now, Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have any useful information on the attack to come forward, adding that they are “particularly interested in anyone who may have seen a black SUV in the Corbally area between 2.30 am and 3.30am”.
“Gardaí are also requesting for anyone with mobile phone or dashcam footage to contact them.”
