MIC to mark 60 years of philosophy

Mary Immaculate College.

THE Philosophy Department at Mary Immaculate College (MIC) is to celebrate its diamond jubilee in style this year with a special conference to mark 60 years of philosophy at the college.

An MIC spokesman said that “this milestone event will bring together former and current philosophy students from both the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Education, along with philosophy staff and friends, for an evening of talks and dialogue on the relevance and significance of philosophy in today’s world”.

The Department of Philosophy was founded in 1978, though philosophy has been taught at MIC since 1964.

The conference will be held on March 12 and is free to attend, with registration through MIC.ie.
