Treaty to tackle Dundalk

TREATY United run up against Dundalk in a top-of-the-table First Division clash at Oriel Park on Friday (7.45pm).

Tommy Barrett’s side come into the attractive fixture on the back of a fine 3-1 home win over Finn Harps.

Meanwhile, Treaty will open its Women’s Premier Division season with a visit from Waterford FC to the Markets Field on Saturday, 3pm.

Among those to commit again for the new campaign is Laura O’Neill, who learnt her skills with Caherdavin Celtic, before then joining Coonagh United followed by Murroe AFC.

Elsewhere, Limerick’s two remaining hopefuls in the FAI Junior Cup face tricky away quarter-finals at the weekend.

On Saturday, Janesboro are in Dublin to face Lucan United (3pm) while the following afternoon Fairview Rangers make the long journey to Donegal to meet Fanad United (1pm).

If both local teams advance, they will meet in the semi-final.

To win the competition outright, Fairview are priced-up at 17/2 and the ‘Boro at 11/1.

In the Munster Junior Cup, Pike Rovers – 2-0 winners (goals from Colin Daly and  Eoin Duff) over Portlaw of Wateford on Sunday – have been paired with Peake Villa of Tipperary at the semi-final stage.

In the Tuohy Cup, Aisling Annacotty qualified to meet Regional United in the final after a 2-1 home win over Fairview Rangers.

The winners had goals from Joel Coustrain and the eagle-eyed Adam Costello.
