MARK Walsh reaching the milestone of 100 appearances with Treaty United has been acknowledged at the Markets Field Stadium.

Walsh is the only member of manager Tommy Barrettโ€™s current squad who has been with the club since its inaugural appearance in the League of Ireland (2021).

His versatility has seen him deployed in midfield and in the centre of defence during his time with the club.

Walshโ€™s steely determination and will-to-win meant that he became one of the leaders amongst the squad. He became club captain at the start of the 2024 season and has retained the armband again for this year.

Barrett commented: โ€œItโ€™s great to see Mark reach this milestone and it shows his level of commitment especially given the fact that he is a father to two young children. His resilience to come back from a couple of serious injuries over the last few seasons, especially when he suffered a fractured jaw, shows his character.”

โ€œHeโ€™s a great pro, looks after himself really well and is a really good role model for the younger players in the squad. Iโ€™m delighted to have Mark as part of the squad.โ€
