EXCITEMENT has gripped a County Limerick village this week following the win of a life-changing sum of money.
Pallaskenry was buzzing after news broke that a Lotto ticket worth over €2million was sold in a village store for last Saturday’s draw.
The National Lottery have confirmed that the winning ticket, worth €2,655,366, was sold at Gala in Pallaskenry.
The win marks the sixth National Lottery millionaire made on Shannonside this year.
The player picked up their Quick Pick ticket on February 26 with the winning numbers 2, 6, 7, 10, 28, 32, and bonus number 19.
Reacting to the news that the local Gala sold the winning ticket, store owner Chen Xiyuan said that “I’ve been running the shop here for over four years, and this is by far the most exciting Lotto moment we’ve ever had”.
“Pallaskenry may be a small village, but we’re a close-knit community, and our team of three works hard to serve everyone here. This incredible news has brought a wonderful buzz to the village, and we couldn’t be happier for the winner. We wish them all the best as they embark on this life-changing journey.”
National Lottery spokesperson Emma Monaghan added: “We’re delighted to welcome another jackpot winner. With such an amazing start to the year, it’s been a joy to see so many lives transformed.”
Ms Monaghan said that the holder of the winning ticket “has been in contact, and arrangements are underway for them to collect their prize. We look forward to celebrating with them at Lottery HQ.”
