LIMERICK City and County Council has been awarded an international health and safety certification.
The local authority was awarded the ISO 45001 Health and Safety Certification, an internationally-recognised standard in workplace safety, health, and welfare, which was developed by national and international standards committees.
A Council spokesman said that the certification “demonstrates not only compliance with health and safety legislation”, but also its commitment to the safety, health, and welfare of local authority staff”.
“This certification is the result of a substantial programme of work involving all departments, to bring the Council’s safety management system to the required standard,” the spokesman added.
