Munster flag raised in Antartica

Karina Leahy raised the Munster flag in Antartica in honour of her late father Patrick.

KARINA Leahy of Charleville took supporting Munster to a whole new level recently as she travelled south to the fifth largest continent in the world, Antarctica.

While on her trip to the most southerly place on the planet she made sure to pack two essential items.

These were her late father Patrick’s Munster flag and his hipflask which he regularly took to matches to matches over the years.

Karina wanted to share the images to not only show her support to the province but also in memory of her father.

Speaking about her dad on munsterrugby.ie, Karina said: “He was a devout Munster supporter and did a lot of work with the Munster Junior Branch as well as being involved in his beloved Charleville RFC.”

It’s not often you see a Munster flag flying through the icebergs.
