LIMERICK artist Laura Duff will release the title track of her upcoming debut album ‘Sea Legs’ on Friday February 28.

This will be Duff’s first release since 2021’s ‘Heavy Summer’ EP and introduces a significant musical development from previous recordings. The new album navigates a myriad of stark, introspective topics and was recorded as part of an extended 12 month session in Knockaderry, Co. Limerick with producer Mícheál Keating.

Laura states. “Sea Legs and the album as a whole is an exploration of loss, memory and the spaces that shape us. It’s been a deeply personal process, so I feel very lucky to be collaborating with and surrounded by close friends in bringing each element of this album to life.

“It’s taken time to get to this point, but we needed to allow for that time and space. I’m excited to finally start sharing the work, I hope it resonates with those who hear it.”

The album features lyrics by Laura and music by Laura, Mícheál Keating, JJ Lee and Christopher O’Sullivan. It was recorded, produced and mixed by Mícheál Keating and mastered by Richard Dowling.

The video for the new single was shot and directed by Graham Patterson (Out of Place) and filmed in West Clare. (available on YouTube from February 28)Patterson explained, “I wanted to respond to ‘Sea Legs’ by embracing the seaside locations of West Clare that colour and shape both the song and the album; embedding Laura within the landscape, and using her personal phone footage, to speak to her connection to these places”
