Limerick signs friendship agreement with Savannah

A FRIENDSHIP agreement has been signed between Limerick and Savanna, Georgia.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony held in the Limerick City and County Council chambers in Dooradoyle.

The Council said “this historic agreement marks the beginning of a new chapter of collaboration and cultural exchange”.

During the signing, Mayor John Moran, Cllr Dan McSweeney, and Council director general Dr Pat Daly welcomed a delegation from Savannah, including Mayor Van R Johnson II and Savannah World Trade Center president Marty Hogan.

The declaration aims to foster mutual understanding, promote tourism, and encourage economic development through shared initiatives. Mayor Moran said “Savannah’s rich past and dynamic present make it a perfect partner for Limerick as we look to the future together”.
