Successful Gerry Ryan Gala in Limerick

ACROSS 40 clubs nationwide, an astonishing 700 swimmers participated in the Annual Gerry Ryan Memorial Gala at the University of Limerick.

The gala is hosted by Limerick Swimming Club (SC) in memory of one of its founding members.

It was held over the course of an entire weekend, this past Friday through to Sunday.

Limerick SC’s Male and Female Swimmer of the Gala were Anton Nieuwoudt and Meadhbh Ní Ríain.

Both were presented their prizes by Nigel Laffan, club vice chairperson.

The Ryan family was represented by Carol and Doris.

Limerick SC has a membership of 160, aged from eight upwards.
