THE CATWALK will be on fire at the Strand Hotel when the pupils of Laurel Hill Schools sashay their way into raising money for exciting school projects.

Organised by the Parents Advisory Council of Laurel Hill Secondary School and Laurel Hill Coláiste, the annual Spring/Summer Fashion Show will take place at 7.30pm on Thursday March 6.

The event welcomes family and friends of both schools and has been running for 47 years. It is the largest school fashion show in Munster, attracting an audience of over 500 people each year.

A total of 36 fifth year students will model ball gowns from Dani’s Closet and sportswear from So Hockey. Some of the male teachers will return to the catwalk by popular demand to model fashion from Sexton’s Menswear.

This year, the excitement will reach new levels as a number of female teachers make their debut on the runway to model clothes from Pamela Scott.

Artwork for the event brochure and poster will be created by the schools fifth year art students. Doors open at 7pm with a pre-show exhibition of students’ artwork and live music provided by the schools’ music students.

At the helm will be the fabulous Celia Holman Lee with the Holman Lee Agency modelling collections from Ber McNamara, Brown Thomas, Earls & Pearls, G Boutique, Lady Penelope, Marion Murphy-Cooney, Pamela Scott, Sinéad’s Boutique, Kimono and The Zip Yard.

The evening will wind up with a raffle supported by local businesses.  Tickets are €25 and are available from both schools. Contact 061 313 636 or 061 319 383 for further details.
