OFFICERS from the Roxboro Community Policing Unit seized a number of stray and unlicensed dogs in the city during a day-long operation.

On Wednesday February 5, Gardaí and the Limerick Dog Warden held a day-long operation targeting stray and unlicensed dogs in the Roxboro area.

According to a statement published on the An Garda Síochána Limerick Facebook page, five dogs from three different locations in the Roxboro area were seized due to being understood to be either stray or unlicensed.

Following the sweep of seizures, Gardaí said the dogs will be vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and will “get lots of TLC before they are re-homed to start their new lives”. Among those seized were breeds resembling greyhounds and terriers.
