A MAN was seriously injured after suffering what is believed to have been crush injuries after part of a structure fell on him in County Limerick this Tuesday morning (February 18).
The incident occurred at the town of Kilfinane around 10am.
It is understood the man was was carrying out works on a building in the town when part of a wall may have collapsed on him.
A major emergency services response swung into action including an air ambulance, paramedics, Gardaí, and firefighters.
The man’s condition is believed to be serious but not life threatening.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA), which investigates workplace related injuries, is investigating the circumstances surrounding what led to the man being injured.
A HSA spokeswoman said that “the HSA is aware of this incident and are making the relevant enquires at this time”.
