UNIVERSITY of Limerick breezed past MTU Cork, 1-28 to 0-10, in the semi-final of the Fitzgibbon Cup Colleges’ Hurling Championship at Mallow.
Brian Ryan’s side now meet DCU, 1-20 to 1-16 semi-final victors over fancied UCC, in Saturday’s Final at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan, 2.45pm.
On Tuesday, UL’s cause was helped by an ill-disciplined Cork team who had two players red-carded in the first half.
Captain Colin Coughlan (Ballybrown) again impressed with four points for the winners, while also among a plethora of scorers were Doon’s Adam English and Aidan O’Connor, Ballybrown.
UL are seeking a third title inside four years and a ninth overall.
