Team Limerick Clean-Up to clean up the streets on 10th anniversary

AS spring starts to bloom across Limerick, the annual Team Limerick Clean-UP (TLC) has announced it will return this April.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, TLC is encouraging schools, clubs, organisations and communities to come out and do their bit to keep Limerick clean and tidy.

Registration for this year’s Team Limerick Clean-Up is now open, with the event taking place on Good Friday, April 18.

As part of the 10th anniversary celebrations, TLC have released a video with some well-known faces talking about what Limerick means to them.

Familiar faces include Cian Lynch, John Kiely, Róisín Ní Ríain, Paul O’Connell and Barry Murphy, and the video name takes inspiration from its featured song, Make it Better by Limerick band Hermitage Green.

The deadline for registration for this year’s Team Limerick Clean-Up is strictly Monday, March 31for schools and businesses and Monday, April 7 for volunteer groups.

Speaking about the launch of the 10th TLC event, co-founders JP McManus, Helen O’Donnell and Paul O’Connell said that TLC is a great way to get involved in the local community.

“TLC is a great day for people across Limerick to get out, meet their neighbours, and make new connections in their communities. What makes TLC really special is the cup of tea and chat that follows when all the hard work is done,” the co-founders said.

“The popularity of TLC has soared over the last ten years, and we are hoping for our biggest number of volunteers to date for our 10-year celebration,” they added.
