THREE long-term injury absentees have returned to training with Munster ahead of Saturday’s URC tilt with Scarlets at Thomond Park.
In a positive update, the club confirmed that Seán O’Brien, Josh Wycherley, and Cian Hurley have all returned to camp.
O’Brien has been out of action since November due to a leg injury with Wycherley returning after sustaining a neck injury in the same month.
Cian Hurley has been unavailable since pre-season due to a knee injury.
On the international front, Tom Ahern returns to the HPC from Ireland camp this week as there are no Six Nations fixtures next weekend.
Four Munster players helped Ireland to a big win over Scotland at Murrayfield on Sunday with Calvin Nash among the tries as Tadhg Beirne and Peter O’Mahony also started with Jack Crowley featuring as a replacement.
There were five Munster players in action for the Ireland U20s as they won in Edinburgh.
Academy centre Gene O’Leary Kareem and Academy flanker Michael Foy both started with Academy out-half Dylan Hicks, Cork Constitution centre Eoghan Smyth and Shannon RFC flanker Oisin Minogue featuring off the bench.
Hicks made his Ireland U20s debut with Minogue scoring a try immediately after coming on.
On the Energia AIL front, there were 12 Munster players in action for their clubs at the weekend.
