AHEAD of a rest weekend, Limerick have three National Hurling League points secured courtesy of a hard-earned draw away to Cork and Sunday’s merited win (0-30 to 1-23) over Tipperary at the Gaelic Grounds.

Against Tipp, four-time All-Star Diarmaid Byrnes stamped his scoring authority on proceedings with a massive haul of seven points, while other notable points flowed from Aidan O’Connor (5), Aaron Gillane (4), Adam English (3), David Reidy (3), and Paddy O’Donovan (3).

Substitute Ethan Hayes of Premier Champions Newcastle West also caught the eye with a couple of lovely moves.

Barry Murphy of county kingpins Doon delivered a huge performance at both left-full and centre-back (following the injury picked up by Kyle Hayes).

Elsewhere, captain Cian Lynch was in fine fettle and new goalkeeper Shane Dowling produced a massive save.
