THE Council have been urged to profile dogs in need of a home at Limerick Dog Shelter on its website.
Social Democrats councillor Shane Hickey-O’Mara also called on the local authority at the monthly Metropolitan District meeting to expand Limerick Dog Shelter’s presence across social media platforms in addition to their current presence on Facebook in order to further inform the public of all dogs currently in its care.
The City North representative was informed that LCCC Dog Control Team make every effort to rehome any stray or unwanted dogs that enter the shelter, where it is appropriate to do so.
“The majority of dogs are rehomed through animal rescue charities and the remainder are rehomed directly to the public.”
